The Poor Farmer and His Golden Goose

Once upon a time, a poor farmer named Henry struggled to keep up with his daily tasks on the farm. He had a small patch of land, a few animals, and a hardworking but aging horse he affectionately called Brownie. Every day, Henry worked hard to make ends meet, but it was never enough.

One day, Henry was out in the fields when he stumbled upon a strange-looking goose. He was about to shoo it away when the goose laid a golden egg! Henry was amazed, and he quickly took the egg home with him.

Henry was sure he had discovered the secret to his newfound wealth. But, when he opened the egg, he found only a feather from the goose.

Still, Henry was determined to keep the goose on his farm, so he named it Goldy and ensured it was well taken care of.

Henry was shocked to find another golden egg in the coop the next morning. From then on, Goldy laid a golden egg every single morning. Henry was overjoyed with his newfound fortune, and he was able to provide a better life for himself and his family.

Word of Henry’s good fortune soon spread throughout the land, and many people soon began to flock to his farm to see the miraculous goose.

The story’s moral is that hard work and determination can lead to great rewards.
