The Cow-Tail Switch

Once upon a time, in a small village in West Africa, there was a young girl named Adisa. Adisa was known for her wit and intelligence; she lived with her parents and two younger brothers.

One day, Adisa’s parents decided to go to the market, leaving her in charge of her younger brothers. While they were gone, a group of thieves entered their home, demanding that Adisa give them all their possessions.

Adisa quickly realized that she needed to act fast to protect her family. She remembered her grandmother’s story about the Cow-Tail Switch, a powerful object that could grant wishes. Using her cleverness, Adisa convinced the thieves that she knew where the Cow-Tail Switch was hidden and would give it to them in exchange for sparing her family.

The thieves agreed, and Adisa led them to a nearby tree. She pointed to the tree branch and told the thieves that the Cow-Tail Switch was hanging there. While the thieves were distracted, Adisa quickly climbed up the tree and tied a cow’s tail to the branch, making it look like the switch.

Adisa then grabbed the real Cow-Tail Switch from its hiding spot and wished the goddess of the sky for help. Suddenly, a powerful windstorm swept through the village, causing the thieves to flee in terror.

Adisa’s parents returned home to find their home safe and sound, and Adisa proudly told them how she outsmarted the thieves. Her parents were amazed by her bravery and intelligence and realized their daughter was special.

From that day on, Adisa was respected and admired by everyone in the village for her quick thinking and resourcefulness. And she knew that she had the strength and courage to face any challenge that came her way.
